What a great shout-out to Aziz Salon and Day Spa! We couldn’t agree more, Melanie – scheduling your appointments out ensures you never have a week of unmanageable hair!
The designer looks for the structure of the fabric, the way the material sits and moves on the models – essential for bringing their art to life. The hair stylists and makeup artists have a mission to compliment the work of the designer while exuding their own raw talent; a cohesion of concepts being placed like a crown and paintbrush on an empty palette. The event director is somewhat of a maestro, conducting the orchestra seamlessly while making sure each note excitement of the evening has brought with it an eager crowd.
…But what does this do to the other artists? The ones who do not enjoy the fruition of their work until long after the event has finished. Find out here, through the Photographer’s Perspective:
A WEEK AGO TODAY….
you took part in our history. The Grand Opening of AZIZ Salon and Day Spa into the heart of the Arboretum would not have been the huge success it was without people like you; eager to come, share, and enjoy not only the designs of Angela Saenz and Austin Fashion Week, but the local sponsors and service providers of AZIZ. We would like to extend our warm and sincere gratitude for your presence. It genuinely delighted us to be able to share such an important moment with our friends, families, clients, and future guests.Thank you.
We welcome you to the newest AZIZ Salon and Day Spa.
A new year, a new approach, and Beauty; from the Inside-Out.
Remember when we promised, “A New Year, A New Approach, and Beauty; from the Inside-Out.”?
We meant it.
AZIZ Salon and Day Spa is ecstatic to become part of the Arboretum. We extend, graciously, an invitation to celebrate the successes of every individual that is part of the team of service professionals here.
During our Grand Opening event, you will be greeted by many new faces that are eager to make your acquaintance, as well as all of the providers you have come to know from our Downtown location. Amongst service samplings during the first part of the evening, and a fashion show; a live music performance will cap off the night of our grand opening. We welcome you to AZIZ Salon and Day Spa, in the Arboretum.
By now, you’ve heard about the new AZIZ Salon and Day Spa. Making its debut into the Arboretum and arriving just in time for Austin Fashion Week. In it’s installment, AZIZ is doing fashion week like never before; becoming a full fledge sponsor for a night at the Driskill Runways that will take place just days after the Grand Opening.
But, in the meantime; all eyes are on the sleekest new facility with decor and glam unlike anything Austin has as of yet. The two story facility’s luster will be paired with an open bar sponsored by Deep Eddy Vodka, private catering, delights from J.Black’s, and champagne flavoured icecream courtesy of Amy’s Ice Cream. An intimate acoustic live music performance by Gary Dorsey will top off the evening only after a fashion show, delivered by the extremely talented stylists of AZIZ, showcasing exclusive designs by Austin’s own Angela Saenz.
Hold that thought; Angela Saenz.
Austin Fashion Week’s official event description (Fashion Meets Timeless Beauty) yields only this rich sentence to give aim at what to expect from the designer: “Her bright prints, eclectic patterns, and floral bursts will be enveloped in the timeless beauty of everything AZIZ Salon and Day Spa exudes.”
Here, we will take it a step further to shed some light on Angela Saenz, and see what’s bursting to bloom in the collection made exclusively for the event, August 14th:
Angela Saenz was born and raised in Austin, Texas and recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Apparel Design. Aside from the knowledge and training acquired through this academic program, Saenz has lived in New York City and interned for Cynthia Rowley and Michael Kors.
In addition to her experience in the New York fashion industry, Saenz previously worked for Texas Performing Arts in Austin as a student assistant responsible for constructing costumes for collegiate plays. She has also worked at numerous fashion events, including shows at New York Fashion Week. One of her most recent designs was featured on the runway at the Fashion Group International’s annual Dallas Career Day. Her senior collecion in the 2011 UT Innovation Fashion was awarded Best Technical Design and her bridal gown awarded Best Bridal.
In summer 2010, Saenz undertook fashion design and illustration courses at Central Saint Martins in London.
